But my interest doesn’t stop there. Beyond my passion for coins, I’m a die-hard Picker that has a knack for uncovering hidden treasures in the most unexpected places. I’m a true “Picker at Heart” and derive immense joy from scouring attics, barns, basements, houses, and garages in search of antique and vintage collectibles. My journey in this field began pretty young, at around 8-9 when I would use a military shovel/pick to dig in the backyards of unsuspecting neighbors’ homes, unearthing bottles, old cast iron toys, and tools that dated back over a century. Some homeowners would catch me in the act, but rather than being upset, they would often invite me in to explore their basements or attics in search of old toys, tools, comics, and even jewelry. Negotiating a fair price, as a kid, I would load my wagon with these newfound “treasures” and rush home before the street lights came on. A lot of items didn’t make it home or were broken along the way but I managed to gather enough and it became my “side hustle” that turned into a 40-plus-year vocation.

My lifelong passion for collecting and the experience have given me an up-to-date understanding of the current valuation of collectible antiques across various categories, whether they be Antique, Vintage pieces, or anything in between.
