About King Philip Coin

Meet Paul — “I’m a Coin Dealer by Trade, But a Picker at Heart.”

I’ve been collecting and trading coins since 1976. What started as a fascination with U.S. coinage on the kitchen table turned into a lifelong habit of picking — coins first, then jewelry, toys, comics, militaria, and just about anything else with real history behind it. That habit took me through Longmeadow, Massachusetts; Phoenix, Arizona; San Diego, California; and Worcester, Massachusetts, before I landed here in Jacksonville. Wherever I’ve lived, the work has been the same: buying, selling, grading, and appraising almost everything the antique world has to offer. I’m a coin dealer by trade, but a picker at heart, and after fifty years I still get the same charge out of finding something worth saving.

Since 1975, I’ve walked through 11,225 properties — residential, commercial, retail, and industrial — appraising everything from coin collections to full estates, and I’ve personally run 351 estate sales, mostly across the Southwest earlier in my career. I’ve learned the hard way not to assume a property is empty of value until you’ve actually looked — twice.

I’m associated with the ANA, PCGS, NGC, CAC, and two dozen more numismatic, antiques, and collectibles organizations, and I work with a network of more than 400 dealers domestically and overseas — so when you sell to me, you’re not limited by what’s sitting in my own case. I can usually find the right home for even the most unusual piece.

Coins may be the anchor of the business, but the real thrill has always been the picking itself — an attic full of toys, a box of comics, a forgotten tool chest, a case of estate jewelry. I’ve bought and sold nearly every category on the antiques map, and I’ve watched people nearly toss something valuable simply because nobody in the house recognized what it was. That’s the whole reason I still do walkthroughs myself.

King Philip Coin has built its reputation on experience, integrity, honesty, and personal service.

Serving Jacksonville — By Appointment, Walk-Ins Welcome

King Philip Coin operates by appointment first. I don’t like rushing a conversation about something that matters to you. I am often out of the office on-site, providing appraisals and evaluations of collectibles.

Walk-ins are always welcome, but I would hate to have you waiting, so appointments are preferred. I’m usually available Monday through Friday, 12:30 to 5.

I look forward to working with you.
